Travelling to Bozeman, Montana

By Air

Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport at Gallatin Field (BZN) serves the Bozeman Area and all of Southwest Montana, including Yellowstone National Park. The airport is located eight miles west of Bozeman and one mile east of Belgrade.  Services available in the terminal building include rental cars and ground transportation.

By Car

Bozeman is located on I-90 about three hours east of Missoula, about two hours west of Billings, twelve hours east of Seattle or eleven hours north of Denver.

Directions to the MSU campus from I-90: Take exit 305 onto North 19th Avenue and follow it south to Kagy Boulevard (approximately 3.5 miles). Turn left onto Kagy and continue to South 7th Avenue. Turn left and continue to parking areas on the left side.

Hotels

We have blocked a set of rooms at three different hotels under state rates, from August 19th through August 22nd. A short description of the hotels can be found below. All three hotels are located in downtown Bozeman, within walking distance of campus.

Magnuson Hotel

We have reserved a block of 20 rooms at the Magnuson. This hotel is within walking distance (approximately one mile), and a hot breakfast is included, but there is no shuttle from the airport to the hotel or from the hotel to campus. When you register, please mention that you are with the Extreme Gravity Institute block, in order to obtain the special negotiated rate. Additional information about this hotel can be found below. Lark Hotel

The Lark is a brand new motel in downtown Bozeman, approximately one mile from campus.This is a small, boutique motel, and so we have blocked only 10 rooms. If these fill up, however, we can reserve more at the state rate. This option does not include breakfast or an airport shuttle. Please mention the Extreme Gravity Institute when booking this motel in order to obtain the group rate.

Westin Element

Note: This option will not be available for booking until June. Stay tuned for details.

The Westin is another brand new hotel in downtown Bozeman, also approximately one mile from campus. It will not be opening until the end of July. Because of this, they will not take reservations until some time in June (and there is a very small but non-negligible possibility that they will not be able to open in time for the workshop.) That said, this option includes breakfast, Wi-Fi, a shuttle to and from the airport, and a bike lending service.
