The MSU Gravity Group studies extreme astrophysical phenomena, such as the inspiral and merger of black holes and neutron stars, to further our understanding of astrophysics and fundamental physics. The incredible conditions that occur in these astrophysical events far exceed those attainable in Earth laboratories, and thus, their potential for new discovery is enormous. Our research involves Einstein's theory of General Relativity, black holes, neutron stars, cosmology, and theories beyond Einstein's.
All members of the Gravity group are involved in top-tier research that is published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national and international conferences. This research is disseminated through pulbic outreach efforts, in collaboration with Extended University and the Montana Space Grant Consortium.
