• A narrow beam of light from a slide projector is dispersed by a prism into a rainbow.
  • Can be displayed on a white board or screen, room lights must be dimmed.





        (insert slit slide)
        (point projector generally toward front wall)
        (position prism so that light beam enters rear surface [longer of the 2 sides] and exits front)
        (focus the image)

  • Spectrum produced by above setup.

  • Use filters to alter spectrum.

  • Illuminate objects with the same or opposite color.
