Katie Fasbender graduated from Humboldt State University in Northern California and
works in the Physics Department with her doctoral advisor, Dr. David Nidever. Her
research focuses on the identification of solar system objects in the all-sky NOAO
Source Catalog (NSC), which was created by Dr. Nidever. She is currently analyzing
a database of objects from the first NSC data release; the properties of asteroid
groups, as well as any new discoveries, can help paint a better picture of the Earth’s
neighborhood. Katie is the president of Women+ in Physics and a recipient of the MSU Graduate Wellness Champion Fellowship. In her spare time
she enjoys creating art, reading horror novels, and befriending outdoor cats. |
